CSS Naked Day 2009
It's that time of year again, time to strip off your stylesheets and bare all for 1 day. Last year nearly 2,200 sites took part in CSS Naked Day (1,600 in 2007 and 750 in 2006), do you think we can see another increase this year?

CSS Naked Day 2008
As with last year, MilkHub will be joining hundreds of other websites and getting naked on Wednesday (9th April). Last year over 1600 sites took part, a massive increase from the 750 the year before! I'll be removing all stylesheets for the day and going one step further by disabling all JavaScript too!

CSS Naked Day 2007
MilkHub will be getting naked on Thursday (5th April) along with potentially hundreds of other site owners. Over 750 sites took part last year!
Why?
It's all to show off website accessibility. A user should be able to use your website with no styles on, essentially what a blind user would see (or hear).
How do I get involved?
If you want to show your interest head over to the CSS Naked Day website and signup. Then on Thursday turn off all of the stylesheets on your site for 24 hours.

Stop Cyberbullying Day
Earlier this month Kathy Sierra, who is a programmer, internet blogger and educator, recieved "graphic and sexual messages that made her afraid to leave her house" (Wikipedia). This has affected many events in the past month causing presenters and events to be cancelled. As a result of this many of the internet's bloggers have decided to declare today, March 30th, Stop Cyberbullying Day.
Andy Carvin has written more about the events of the past month and some of his thoughts on the matter. What do you think?

Computer Games are like Drugs
Did you know that computer games are like drugs? According to Boris Johnson MP they are. Last December he wrote a rather lengthy article comparing computer games to drugs and blaming computer games for the increasing illiteracy of our Nation.
Boris wrote:
It is a shock, arriving at university, and being asked to compose an essay of a couple of thousand words, and then discovering that you can't do it; and this demoralisation is a major cause of dropping-out. It's not that the students lack the brains; the raw circuitry is better than ever. It's the software that's the problem. They have not been properly programmed, because they have not read enough.
It sounds now as though young people are units on a production line through school being programmed to suit the needs of the nation. If the MPs have this view on schooling no wonder illiteracy is increasing. Could it just be that schools are not engaging children and young people, or perhaps that some parents believe that it is the school's job to educate their children and that they should have no need to help them (my parents are not like this).
